Derek is an Associate Portfolio Manager responsible for the Information Technology and Communication Services sectors on the US equities team. He joined the team in 2021. Prior to this position, Derek was a Senior Research Analyst and Vice President at Consumer Edge Research covering the Consumer Mobility and Automotive industries.
Michael Gabelli is a Managing Director at Gabelli & Partners and is based in New York. Gabelli is President of the company, where he is responsible for the business affairs of the Alternative Investment Group, which encompasses hedge funds and UCITS funds. In addition, he serves as Director of Global Business Development for GBL. He also serves as Non-Executive Chairman of Gabelli Japan K.K. Prior to his current position at Gabelli, he served various investment roles on merger arbitrage and value portfolios. Previously, he worked at Bear Stearns in Institutional Equity Research Sales. Gabelli received an MBA from Columbia University Graduate School of Business, an MS from New York University, and a BA from Boston College.
Anjali Bastianpillai joined Pictet Asset Management in 2016 and is a Senior Client Portfolio Manager in their Thematic Equities team, responsible for the Robotics, Security and Digital strategies. Prior to taking on her current role in 2018, she was a Senior Client Portfolio Manager for the Total Return Fixed Income team focusing on Credit Long/Short and EM Debt Long/Short strategies.
Anjali joins from Tide Pool Capital (a marketplace lending fund focused on US consumer credit loans) where she was Head of Credit & Risk. Prior to Tide Pool Capital, she was at Vitol Services Limited as a Senior Credit Officer and The Carlyle Group as Head of Investor Relations for European Leveraged Loans. Anjali started her career as a Financial Analyst at Capital Markets Assurance Corporation (now MBIA Inc) before working as a securitisation analyst at Standard & Poor’s.
Anjali holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Georgetown University.

Peter Lingen joined Pictet Asset Management in 2016 to manage the Pictet-Robotics strategy.
Peter Lingen holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Management from Uppsala University, where he also obtained a Master’s degree in Management.
Peter began his career in 1996 as an assistant at ABN Amro Hoare Govett Corporate Finance in London before joining Coller Capital as a senior investment analyst in the same year. In 1998, he joined Arthur Andersen Global Corporate Finance. Peter joined Swedbank Robur in 2000 and led the Swedbank Robur Technology fund there until his arrival at Pictet Asset Management. With approximately $2.3 billion in assets under management, this fund remains the top-rated in its category by Morningstar.
Nicolas Jullien is Head of High Yield & Credit Arbitrage at Candriam since 2020. He will be Head of Global Fixed Income from 2025. He joined Candriam as a Junior Portfolio Manager in 2007, just before the onset of The Great Financial Crisis. In 2011, he was named Portfolio Manager of Candriam’s flagship Euro High Yield strategy, and co-manager of other absolute return strategies. In 2017, he added the role of Deputy Global Head of Credit, adding the role of Head of High Yield & Credit Arbitrage three years later. In 2021, Nicolas introduced an innovative alternative strategy, Credit Alpha, with the ambitious goal of delivering attractive returns in all market conditions.
Nicolas holds a Masters degree in actuarial and financial sciences from Université Claude Bernard in Lyon (2007). He graduated from l’Institut des Sciences Financières et d’Assurances (ISFA) and has been a CFA Charterholder since 2010.
Laurence is a portfolio manager and deputy head of the emerging markets equity team at RBC BlueBay Asset Management. Before joining the firm in 2013, she was the head of the emerging markets team at a leading UK-based asset management company. In that role, Laurence managed strategies for Asian and global emerging market equities and developed quantitative models for stock selection and environmental analysis. She began her professional career in 1998 as a quantitative analyst at a major financial services company, where she supported European and global equity portfolio management teams by developing quantitative models to assist in portfolio construction and stock selection. Laurence holds a university diploma (Magistère) in Statistical Economics and a postgraduate diploma (DEES) in Statistics and Econometrics from the University of Toulouse. She also holds the CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) certification.
