Strategist, Emerging Markets Equity at NN Investment Partners, Maarten-Jan is responsible for the top-down investment process for emerging market equities, including the assessment of the emerging market equity asset class and the country allocation within emerging markets. Developer of a propriety top-down investment model to categorise emerging equity markets, he created an analytical tool used within NN IP to combine views about the global market environment with individual emerging markets.
Highly regarded as an expert in emerging markets, prior to coming to NN IP in 2008, he worked at ABN AMRO where he was an emerging markets strategist responsible for the asset class and country allocation recommendations.
Prior to that, he was a member of their sell-side research team as an economist focused on Eastern Europe and Latin America.
A native of the Netherlands, Maarten-Jan is fluent in English, Spanish and Dutch. He has appeared numerous times on CNBC Europe, Bloomberg TV Spain, TV8 Sweden and TV18 India, and while at ABN AMRO, he was the company’s spokesman for emerging market issues. He frequently presents ING IM’s views on emerging markets to key institutional clients and speaks in front of large audiences on the topic around the world.
In addition to a degree in Latin American Studies from Leiden University, he completed a postgraduate degree in International Economic Relations from the University of Amsterdam in 1995.

Mr. Blitz, co-Head of the Quantitative Research department at Robeco, is responsible for the coordination of all equity-related quantitative research. The key tools which have been developed in this area are our proprietary stock selection models and portfolio optimization algorithms.
As a spin-off of his research, Mr. Blitz has published papers in various peer-reviewed journals, such as the Journal of Empirical Finance, Journal of Portfolio Management and European Financial Management. His areas of interest include quantitative investment strategies and mutual fund performance evaluation.
Mr. Blitz started his career in the investment industry at Robeco in 1995. He holds a PhD in Finance and a Master’s degree in Econometrics (cum laude) from Erasmus University Rotterdam and is registered with the Dutch Securities Institute.

Paul joined the Multi-Asset team in 2013 from Mercer, where he was Head of Asset Allocation (EMEA), responsible for asset allocation across all client portfolios in the region. He was also the lead manager on the Mercer Diversified Growth Fund.
He joins Henderson to focus on asset allocation in the Multi-Asset team, with a particular focus on the Diversified Growth funds.

Edouard Carmignac is the Chairman of Carmignac Gestion, which he founded in 1989. As Chief Investment Officer, he actively participates in defining the funds’ investment strategies. He manages the Carmignac Investissement fund and co-manages Carmignac Patrimoine alongside Frédéric Leroux and Rose Ouahba. After receiving an MBA from Columbia University, Edouard Carmignac began his career in 1972 as an analyst for Blyth Est Dillon in New York before joining Paribas where he was in charge of international financial transactions. In 1976, he was appointed Deputy Manager of Banque de la Société Européenne Financière, responsible for loans to the energy and mining industries. Between 1984 and 1989 he worked as a stockbroker at Hamant-Carmignac.
