Alex Wolf, Emerging Markets Economist at Standard Life Investments. Alex analyses the key emerging markets, such as China and India, and helps to expand Standard Life Investments’ understanding of the global business cycle. He has eight years of investment experience and joins from the U.S. State Department, where he served as a U.S. Diplomat in Beijing and Taipei. Prior to that, he held posts at BAE Systems and Lehman Brothers. Also based in Edinburgh, Alex reports to Jeremy Lawson, Chief Economist.
Richard Buxton joined Old Mutual as Head of UK Equities in June 2013. He was previously at Schroders, where he managed the Schroders UK Alpha Plus Fund for over 10 years. Prior to Schroders he spent over decade at Baring Asset Management, having commenced his investment career in 1985 at Brown Shipley Asset Management. Richard was awarded the Outstanding Contribution to the Industry Honour at the Morningstar OBSR Awards in 2012 and has a degree in English Language and Literature, Oxford University
Jean-Philippe Donge is Head of Fixed Income at BLI – Banque de Luxembourg Investments
Matthew joined Henderson in 2012 as Head of Global Equities, having managed global equities for over 15 years. His investment process and philosophy is similarly aligned to that of the Henderson Global Equity Team.
Previously he had been Partner and Portfolio Manager at Trinity Street Asset Management, as well as Senior Portfolio Manager and Vice-President at JP Morgan Asset Management. Prior to this he had gained his first career experience as a Portfolio Manager at Mercury Asset Management/Merrill Lynch Investment Managers.
Matthew graduated from the University of Manchester with a BA (Hons) degree in Politics and Modern History. He is also a CFA Charterholder.
Craig Botham, Emerging Markets Economist at Schroders, is responsible for the economics team and house view on the emerging markets, with particular focus on the BRICs. He is based in the Economics Group in London. Investment career commenced when he joined Schroders in 2013. Prior to joining Schroders he was an Economist at the UK Financial Services Authority and the International Monetary Fund.

Stephen Thariyan joined Henderson in 2007 as Head of Credit, from Rogge Global Partners where he was a Portfolio Manager of Global Credit and its Absolute Return fund. Stephen started his career in 1988 at Ernst & Young as a Trainee Accountant and then moved to Chevron Corporation as a Senior Auditor. He moved to Gulf Oil in 1994 as a Business and Economic Adviser and then to NatWest Markets as a Director and Senior Credit Analyst. Stephen graduated from the University of Newcastle-Upon-Tyne with a BA (Hons) in Accountancy and Financial Analysis.
Mr. Vargas is a Uruguayan based lawyer, expert in Private Placement Life Solutions for Latin American HNW and UHNW clients. Mr. Vargas and his team of lawyers have an in depth knowledge of the legal context in each Latin American country where the PPLI structure is most efficient. He and his team are constantly travelling and providing services to family offices, banks and law firms, helping wealth planners when structuring for their own Latin American clients.
Michael Goering is a Managing Director at Buttonwood Group Advisors, responsible for Institutional product and business development. Michael has over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry in a variety of roles at Citi and Morgan Stanley. He received his BS in Electrical Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis and a Masters in Business Administration from the Tuck School at Dartmouth College.
Michael W. Roberge, President and Chief Investment Officer came to MFS as a credit analyst in 1996 and was named president in 2009. He oversees the firm’s investment management and research operations and is director of global research.
Robert Harvey is a Portfolio Manager with Matthews International Capital Management, LLC and co-manages the firm’s Emerging Asia strategy. Prior to joining Matthews in 2012, he was a Senior Portfolio Manager at PXP Vietnam Asset Management from 2009 to 2012, where he focused on Vietnamese equities. Previously, he was a Portfolio Manager on the Global Emerging Markets team at F&C Asset Management in London from 2003 to 2009. Robert started his investment career in 1994 as an Assistant Equity Portfolio Manager with the Standard Bank of South Africa’s asset management division. He received a Bachelor of Commerce in Accountancy and Commercial Law from Rhodes University in South Africa and a Bachelor of Accounting Science in Advanced Management Accounting, Taxation and Auditing at the University of South Africa. Robert has been a Portfolio Manager of the Matthews Emerging Asia Fund since its inception in 2013.
