Stephen Freedman joined Pictet Asset Management in 2019 and is Head of research and sustainability, Thematic Equities.

Before joining Pictet, Stephen was at UBS Wealth Management, where he most recently served as head of Sustainable Investing Solutions for the Americas, based in New York. Prior to that he served in various Investment Strategy roles, including head of Thematic Investing Strategy and head of Tactical Asset Allocation. He started his career with UBS in Zurich in 1998 as an economist and public policy analyst. Since 2018, he has been teaching environmental finance at New York University.

He was also the founding co-chair of the Columbia University Seminar on Sustainable Finance from 2016 to 2019.

Stephen holds a Doctorate (PhD) and a Masters in economics from the University of St. Gallen. He is a CFA charterholder and earned the FRM designation from the Global Association of Risk Professionals.

Xavier Chollet

Xavier Chollet joined Pictet Asset Management in 2011 as a Senior Investment Manager in the Thematic Equities Team co-managing the Clean Energy Strategy.
Previously, he was a member of Pictet’s Wealth Management division as an analyst covering technology (from 1998) and clean energy (from 2007). He also managed two internal portfolios on solar energy and energy efficiency.
Xavier holds a Master’s in Finance from the Faculty of Business and Economics of the University of Lausanne.

Alexandra Russo

Alexandra Russo, CFA, is a product specialist of the Thematic Equity team at AllianzGI, based in New York. She joined Allianz Global Investors in 2012 and has held various roles in marketing, operations and investments. Currently, Russo also dedicates part of her time to analysis related to sustainable issues relevant to the team’s SDG strategies. She has covered the Global Water fund for five years and has five years of experience in sustainable investing. 

 

Miguel Oleaga

iguel Oleaga is portfolio manager for Thornburg Investment Management. He joined the firm in 2014 as an equity research analyst, was promoted to associate portfolio manager in 2017, and was named portfolio manager in 2018.

Miguel holds a BS in business administration (finance and management specialties) from the University of Massachusetts. Prior to his joining Thornburg, Miguel worked at Putnam Investments, conducting equity analysis supporting growth, value, and dividend-focused mandates. He held a series of positions of increasing responsibility at Putnam beginning in 2004.

Ahmed Riesgo

Ahmed Riesgo is Chief Investment Strategist at Insigneo. He is responsible for devising and implementing the firm’s global market views and investment strategies, communicating them, and managing the firm’s model portfolios. In addition, he is the Chairman of the Insigneo Investment Committee. Prior to assuming this role, Riesgo was a Senior Trader on the GIS/Insigneo Sales & Trading Desk. Previous stints include Credit Suisse Securities and the law firm of Hunton & Williams. Riesgo holds a Bachelor of Arts (2001), magna cum laude, in Economics and Political Science from the University of Miami and a Juris Doctorate (2004) from Columbia Law School.

Fernando de Frutos

Fernando de Frutos is Chief Investment Officer at Boreal Capital Management. As CIO, he is the global responsible for the definition and communication of the firm’s investment policy as well as its translation into investable solutions. Before joining Boreal Capital Management Zürich, he worked as a Senior Manager at Deloitte’s Swiss strategy-consulting practice for the financial services industry. Previously, he led the Investment Products & Investment Advisory department at ABN AMRO Private Banking (Switzerland) after holding the Head Investment Office position. Fernando has also worked at Clariden Bank and BBVA Private Banking.
